Cushion & Rug Storage

We treat stored rugs and carpets like treasures. Our storage process combines professional cleaning, archival-grade protection, and climate-controlled safekeeping so your pieces come back fresh, pest-free, and ready to enjoy.

Below is the step-by-step workflow we follow for every item.

Cushion Storage

  1. Inspect & document — check cushions for stains, tears, broken zippers; take photos and note fillings.

  2. Clean & sanitize — perform full cushion cleaning (spot treatment, shampoo, deodorize) so only freshly cleaned cushions enter storage.

  3. Dry & fluff — thoroughly dry and re-fluff to prevent mold and compression.

  4. Tag & inventory — attach ID tags with customer name, item description, and storage ID; log items in inventory.

  5. Pack for protection — pack cushions and store for long term preservation.

  6. Climate-controlled placement — store in climate-controlled shelving to avoid temperature and humidity swings.

  7. Free winter storage note — cushions cleaned by Magic Carpet Pride receive free winter storage (seasonal pickup/dropoff scheduling available).

  8. Retrieval & inspection — on return, reinspect, re-freshen if needed, and deliver with condition report and photos.

Rug Storage

  1. Inspect & document — note rug type, size, fiber content, existing damage; photograph both sides.

  2. Deep clean & dry — perform professional rug cleaning and full drying to remove pests, dirt, and moisture.

  3. Moth-proofing treatment — apply a safe moth-proofing treatment appropriate for the rug fiber and customer preference.

  4. Tyvek wrap & label — wrap rolled rugs in Tyvek for dust and moisture protection; label with ID, orientation, and handling instructions.

  5. Elevate & climate control — store rolls horizontally on racks or cradles off the floor in a climate-controlled, low-light environment.

  6. Regular checks — perform periodic inspections for pests, moisture, and shifting; document condition.

  7. Return prep — unroll, reinspect, spot-treat if needed, and deliver with maintenance recommendations.
